Vriksha Curriculum

Vriksha Philosophy

Education should surpass boundaries. Boundaries that stretch beyond textbooks,, exams and scores.  The goal of Education should be an holistic development of the child. In Vriksha we strike a balance between curricular and co-curricular activities to create an atmosphere which would nourish and strengthen each child’s dominant passions.  We believe  that curricular and co-curricular activities are both complementary to each other and require equal prominence in school.

The children are introduced to the basics of  Academics in the early years. Children develop their skills in  Numeracy and Literacy  and Music and Movement. In the early years they are guided in their learning with topics chosen for them that would help them in understanding the world around them. This would be the platform which would propel them into their own fields of interest, as they grow older.

We help children master the core competencies which promote deep learning for a lifetime.

In the early years the children ideally stay with the same teacher for a few years and this helps in a better understanding of the child and develops mutual respect and a strong bond between the teacher and the child. We adopt the multi-sensory approach to support the children in their exploration of the world around them.  This helps our children become confident, articulate, motivated and respectful.

Co curricular activities

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn.” Benjamin Franklin. Actively involving the children in our classroom activities and in decision making increases their cognitive abilities. Our classroom resonates with a dynamic spirit, where participation is compulsory and not selective or optional.

Music relaxes and energizes the child and at our Vriksha we believe in encouraging the children to sing or play an instrument. Children will learn important lessons like patience, teamwork and the power of practice through music classes that are not time bound. Music also helps children in coordination and creativity. It also aids in children finding the rhythm within themselves and around them. The effect music has on the children is something extraordinary.  We offer classes in Bongos, Keyboard and Guitar.

Yoga promotes self confidence and patience. We at Vriksha introduce the children to yoga and meditation which will help develop essential skills for a lifetime of health and wellness of body, mind and spirit.

The time they spend in our school will assist them in entrepreneurial decision making, analyse situations unbiased, mindful about everyone around them and to maintain harmony in Nature. We are also committed in providing an enjoyable schooling career to our children which they would savor as adults.
